Client: The Bach Choir
The Promise is an award winning magical realism genre film made in collaboration with the world renowned Bach Choir. A new original work composed for them by Gabriel Jackson presented an opportunity to tell a story designed to inspire people to make a difference in their personal response to the climate crisis. So many of us are afraid of trying to do things that are good for the planet because of the spectre of being labelled a hypocrite; because what we try can’t be perfect. The film addresses this tension and encourages regenerative action.
The film was shot in Puzzlewood Forest, where scenes from Star Wars, The Secret Garden and Merlin have been filmed. It brings to life Mother Earth, who inspires our young female hero to take ownership of her relationship with the natural world and commit to regenerating it: The Promise.
